The "Rivoli 2030" collective, made up of stakeholders of the Rue de Rivoli, commissioned Atelier Soil to draw up a vision of the street by 2030. The studio has imagined the transformation of the street through a realistic, operational and ambitious approach, while remaining faithful to the Parisian identity and heritage of the site.

The vision for the rue de Rivoli reflects the challenges facing Parisian public spaces: combining heritage  and climate resilience, while enabling a new, harmonious sharing of public space.

1. A rehabilitated heritage
through the restoration of its architecture, its architectural composition, particularly the arcades, and its floors, thanks to the development of a common charter incorporating the codes of Parisian aesthetics. The proposal is the result of fruitful discussions to define a shared vision of the desired development: the emphasis has been placed on preserving the integrity of the arcades, their legibility, the clarity of the architecture and respect for perspective.

2. A nice walk
thanks to a new cohabitation of mobility uses, a street layout that accommodates all types of movement, through harmonious management of priorities, by emphasising strolling, and ensuring all possible paths. The design of the street will reduce conflicts of use and guarantee universal accessibility, with a clearer layout that puts the emphasis on pedestrian crossings.

3. A street like a garden
to anticipate the climate of the future, by cooling the street with light landscaping and planting the surrounding area when possible. The proposal includes several greening scenarios, to measure the impact of each intervention on the climate and in terms of architectural heritage.
